Premium compact SUVs pops up everywhere, so much so that the Consumer Guide has put them in a class by itself, apart from cheaper models for mainstream brands. BMW X3 helped plow the field a few years back.
Acura has since weighed in with the RDX was the Infiniti EX new for 2008, Lexus is said to be prepping a candidate, probably based on parent Toyota's RAV4. New in 2009 was the Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK.
