Nissan Launched Sunny mid-size sedan in India



In a press conference held today morning, Nissan has announced their plans to sell the Sunny mid-size sedan in India. Based on customer demand for an affordable mid-sized sedan, Nissan has decided to enter the segment with a car based on the V-platform, the same platform on which the Nissan Micra is based. By studying the Indian market, Nissan has realized that Indians don’t compromise on quality so the product will be made accordingly.

Coming October would witness mid size sedan called Sunny, produced by Nissan. This 10th generation model, originally launched in 1966, would come in with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, and its production would kick-start in mid August, its Chennai plant.

This new small car is likely to compete with Toyota Etios, VW Vento, Hyundai Verna, Swift Dzire, Ford Fiesta and Honda City. According to the officials, this mid size sedan would surely meet the increasing demand of 350-million strong middle class population and would prove to be an impetus for the economy.


The Japanese carmaker Nissan has released the first picture and details about the new 2012 Nissan Sunny @ China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. 2012 Nissan Sunny will go on sale from January 2011, gradually, in 170 countries worldwide under various brand names.
